Neptune members

Nine Israeli telecomm equipment vendors, one service provider, and ten Israeli institutes of higher learning make up the Neptune consortium.


The vendors are: ECI Telecom, RAD Data Communications, Gilat Satellite Networks, Elbit Systems, Ceragon Networks, BATM Telecom, ADVA Optical Networking Israel, Mellanox Technologies, and ASOCS.

The service provider is Bezeq International.

The universities are the Technion – the Israel Institute of Technology, Ben-Gurion University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Bar-Ilan University, Tel-Aviv University, the University of Haifa,

Tel-Aviv Jaffa Academic College, Holon Technological Institute, the Lev Academic Center in Jerusalem, and

IDC Herzliya.

Technological Committee

The Neptune project performs its work in four working groups: Solutions (use cases), Network Abstraction (SDN), Resource Virtualization (NFV) And Orchestration, In addition, there is a Technological Committee, and at any given time there may be ad-hoc research teams.
